Copper Tooling Workshop

Over the summer break, SUTDio held a 2-hour copper tooling workshop, where members learnt more about copper techniques, the different techniques used, as well as how to incorporate different textures into their pieces to achieve different effects. The workshop also allowed them to gain more insight on the uses of copper and how copper can change over time due to exposure to various environments, and how it can be seen in the different architecture around us. Each participant was then given 2 pieces of copper to work on.

After the workshop, participants brought their art pieces home. Through this workshop, we hope that the participants were able to gain more insight on how different textures and patterns can affect the overall look of an object, and how the different materials around us can change in multiple ways due to the various elements.
